About Myself, My Company, The NVIDS Imitative & USA VoterID.com

I am the creator of USAVoterID.com and the founder-owner of USA Technology Solution Systems, LLC. My company and website were created for a single purpose: that of civic education and media outreach dedicated to advancing the vision of NVIDS — My proposed National Voter ID System for voting in federal elections. My belief is that trust is the backbone of our democratic republic — and technology, when used wisely, can strengthen that trust. This is a central goal of the NVIDS initiative — to improve our voting infrastructure, accountability, and accessibility, thereby, strengthening our civic trust and overall national unity regarding our elections. All my life experience has brought me to this point of advocacy and for those who are interested I will share a little background about myself.
Academically, I have a diverse background that has colored my intellectual journey from where it begun within the humanities and the social sciences. As an undergraduate, I focused on the study of politics, history, law, psychology, and economics, earning a Bachelor’s degree in political science/pre-law. I intended to go to law school but then became enamored with writing and I wanted to dive into philosophy and study it deeply. Following this course, I started in graduate philosophy but ended up completing a master’s in religious and cultural studies and then went on to complete a second master’s in education. Along this path I was trying to build what I called a philosophy of humanity – a unifying synthesis of Eastern and Western frameworks. In short, I’ve long been interested studying big picture frameworks and connecting overlapping ideas which I also see as influencing my current work of NVIDS.
Throughout my life I have considered myself a writer more than anything else. I wrote about many political, philosophical and social issues, utilizing a variety of mediums from technical philosophy, to journalistic articles, to short stories and screenplays. I then stepped into video production to explore that space which I found very attractive, and throughout the process I also gravitated into information technology and cyber-security. Most recently, I have attained several IT certifications and have entered a third masters program for IT and cyber-security. I’m not sure, however, when I will finish my current degree as I believe the time for organizing this advocacy movement is now. In the big picture, I have went from history to philosophy to technology to political advocacy, and this has given me a well balanced approach.
As I’ve already alluded to in different terms, I have long been interested in the big movements of history and how ideas have affected societies. Within this context, as I immersed myself in the world of information technology and cyber-security, I looked at the big picture of our voting infrastructure — fifty states, each maintaining their own systems, their own rules, and with their own vulnerabilities. I asked could there be a more unified, secure approach to voting in America: a single national identification framework, supported by a federally managed database and verified through the states themselves. This could be a historically significant stabilizing factor I thought. From this idea, NVIDS emerged. Several months later in an graduate IT project management course I spent 16 weeks developing the IT framework, business plans, legal arguments, etc. for NVIDS and this movement was most notably born. So my focus in life now is to help bring this idea to the public for consideration as NVIDS represents a vision where innovation and civic duty work hand in hand to strengthen the trust between citizens and their nation. This is a mission I believe in deeply, and one I intend to see realized.
